Promise

Holy crow, I don't think I could have eaten any more crap than I did this weekend.  I won't go into the details (because it's embarrassing), but for someone who regularly preaches about eating healthily, this was absolutely ridiculous.  Especially as our refrigerator was full of fresh vegetables and hours-old, local,  free-range eggs.  No excuse except laziness and cravings (not of the pregnant variety, I might add).

So this week, I am making a promise to myself to eat as well as I can.  I don't feel too guilty about it, as we don't eat out that much.  But, I know I feel better when I eat better.  So, no more take-out this week.  It must stop now.

My friend and I were talking about it last night and she figures it must be a fall thing.  It's getting colder with less sun-light.  I'm pretty sure that is playing a big role in it.  Anyone else finding it hard to eat well lately?

  1. Hmmm yes, a bit! But even more so I'm finding it hard to exercise. It's just too cold and gets dark so early now that when I'm back from work I just wanna curl up in my living room. Not good!! I hate winter.

  2. I hate that when that happens. First it's a big chocolate cake on the counter in it's own cake plate. Then it's 3/4's of a cake.. oy..... I'm am tearing into fruits lately. I can't seem to get enough. It doesn't help that hot foods have made me very vomittous lately. Not sure why only have meds to blame. A day or two won't ruin anyone's good diet so hang there and get back to track without guilt!! Hugs. tammy

  3. Yeah, so I've already broken my "promise" :) I do eat really well, tons of fruit and veggies, but then we go and do something like eat a frozen pizza for supper. Oh well :D

Tammy, I have no control (nor do I want any) around chocolate cake!

  4. Do you know how much crap I've eaten since Thanksgiving? Carrot cake, nachos, chips, COOKIE BATTER... Don't feel bad. Everyone needs some indulgent eating time.

  5. Nadine, you're allowed to eat vast amounts of food: you're pregnant and have weight to gain since the weight you lost in the first trimester. And you're Nadine, who would you be without nachos and chips? Not someone I'd recognize :)
